Restore damaged photographs and transform faded originals into new images that can be appreciated for generations.  Over time, photographs can become the only reminder one may have of a dear relative or friend.  Silver gelatin restoration breathes new life into our lost memories.  Bringing photographs back to life is a true passion of mine.  I can restore almost any image to it's intended beauty.  Cracked and broken, torn and faded no more.  I take great care to assure that all the work sold to you is handcrafted by me in my studio.  Rest assured that no part of your order is shipped out to an outside source, or farmed out to a digital restoration house.  All images are created by hand and in my studio.

Custom Restoration

I start at the beginning, taking the highest resolution scan of original.  Restoration repair is done to remove all the cracks and wrinkles. A reverse scanning process produces a silver gelatin negative. This negative is then used to create a fully restored photograph that is hand processed in the same traditional, chemical way that began in the 1870’s.  Services are available for oil painting to add permanent color to your photograph if desired. 

Pricing for restoration services start at $100 and vary in cost depending on the specifics of your order.  A complimentary estimate is offered on all images. 

Framing

Each piece can be framed to order, in an archival method insuring that your newly restored heirloom will be protected from dust and particulate in the air that can damage your photograph.

Not in the San Diego area?  No problem!  Just email me to get your restoration project started.  In a few days you will receive instructions and a return envelope in the mail.  Just simply drop in the mail and in a few weeks you will receive your newly restored photograph along with a negative and your original.
